Can I make an appointment for Hep A Vaccination?
The vaccination is available in both our Hawaii Kai and Kapahulu locations on a walk-in basis.
My child needs the vaccine - can I bring him/her in?
Unfortunately we do not offer vaccinations for patients under age 18. Please refer to your Pediatrician. Your child will likely already have had the vaccination.
I was a recent customer at a business with confirmed Hepatitis A cases, what do I need to do?
You should come in to discuss the situation with a physician. Depending on whether you have worrisome symptoms, and depending on the timing of exposure, we may test you for acute Hepatitis A infection or may offer you Hepatitis A vaccination to reduce your risk of developing Hepatitis A if it is within 2 weeks of your exposure.
I was not exposed to Hepatitis A - can I get the vaccination?
We certainly offer Hepatitis A vaccination as a preventative measure but it is always best to clarify your coverage with your insurance beforehand.
Does my insurance cover the Hepatitis A vaccine?
Medicare DOES NOT cover Hepatitis A vaccination. Unfortunately, you may have to pay the out-of-pocket cost of $104 for the injection, unless you have a secondary insurance that covers it.
For other insurance companies, it depends. Different insurance companies have different policies and we will be happy to bill to your insurance company if we participate. However if they do not pay the full cost, you will receive a bill for the remaining balance to be paid within 30 days.

You do not need a prescription if you come here since we have the vaccination in stock at Island Urgent Care and it is administered under a physician’s orders. We do not write prescriptions for Hepatitis A vaccine to be received elsewhere.
